Ridvan Yilmaz talks Rangers future amid reports of transfer interest from Turkey

Ridvan Yilmaz has ended speculation over his Rangers future by insisting he has 'no intention' of returning to Turkey.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst moved to land the Besiktas left-back in a big money summer deal but game-time has proved hard to come by for the 21-year-old as he adapts to both life in Scotland and at the Light Blues. He was given his big chance in a Champions League clash at Napoli and impressed, despite defeat, and was pitched in once again to face Aberdeen in the following game but suffered an injury early on in a major blow.

His lack of first team minutes with Borna Barisic mainly the first choice option started links with a quickfire return to Turkish football with the likes of Galatasaray and his former club said to be keen to snap him up on loan. However, the full-back has made his position clear in the Turkish media by saying he was NO intention of departing Rangers and wants to prove himself.

He said: "I want to play in the top leagues in Europe until the age of 28 or 29 at least and prove myself.

"So I have no intention of returning to Turkish football right now."

Yilmaz will get a fresh start to prove himself on his return from injury with a new manager heading into Ibrox following the sacking of Van Bronckhorst on Monday.

Michael Beale is the frontrunner with latest reports claiming QPR 'expect' him to return to Ibrox. The former No2 served under Steven Gerrard's reign at the club but could now make the big move north as the main man.

It would be an appointment that would prove popular with fans with the 42-year-old very highly-regarded. He's already rejected an approach from Wolves with season after starting life in the dugout well at QPR.
