Europa League finalists Rangers are reportedly keen on £4m-rated Besiktas left-back Ridvan Yilmaz, according to a report.
The 21-year-old has turned heads during his time with the Turkish giants but only has one year remaining on his contract in Istanbul. And now the Daily Mail state Gio Van Bronckhorst is exploring a bid for a player who has six caps for the Turkey national team.
Rangers are on the search for a new left-back to compete with Borna Barisic as Calvin Bassey gets set to seal his £19m plus add ons switch to Ajax. The arrival of Ben Davies helps mitigate versatile Bassey's exit in the heart of the defence but he also impressed at full back. Yilmaz is a modern day full-back that loves to get forward and create chances and has been noted for his delivery and has been watched by multiple clubs in recent seasons.
It comes after Van Bronckhorst saluted the arrival of Davies on a long-term deal as he he makes it six arrivals for the summer. Speaking after the 3-1 win over West Ham, the Dutchman said: "Ben is a very experienced player and we identified him to come to Rangers because of the quality he has.
“He is a left footed defender, which is very difficult to find. He is a quality defender who is also comfortable on the ball, so I am really happy he is joining us from now on.”
