Ridvan Yilmaz considering Rangers future ahead of 'agent talks'

Ridvan Yilmaz's agent will meet with Rangers boss Philippe Clement and club officials in the coming days to discuss the defender's future.

This is according to Turkish outlet Sports Digitale who claim the left-back is weighing up his future at Ibrox.

Yilmaz has struggled for regular game time at Light Blues since joining from Besiktas in the summer of 2022.

And with Borna Barisic continuing to be favoured ahead of him, Yilmaz has reportedly been left frustrated at his limited minutes.

He was previously linked with a return to his homeland, with Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and old club Besiktas all reportedly keeping tabs on him.

Meanwhile,

Rangers hero Barry Ferguson hopes the Ibrox side can hold onto starlet Ross McCausland.

The 20-year-old has made an impact for the Light Blues after being given an opportunity by new boss Philippe Clement.

He made his first start for Rangers during the 2-0 victory against Livingston before the international break and also made his debut for Northern Ireland in their recent defeat to Finland,

McCausland's current deal expires at the end of the season and Clement revealed last week that talks are underway on a new deal.

And Ferguson hopes the midfielder remains at Ibrox. Speaking to Go Radio, he said: "There's a contract on the table from Rangers.

"So I’d like to think where he’s been given a chance, he’ll put pen to paper, and he’ll commit to a new contract at Rangers.

“He’s been a breath of fresh air, to be honest with you, since he’s come into the team. He’s come off the bench and did really well, got his first start against Livingston.

"I thought he was really good. I’d like to see him stay put, as I said. I always like to see young players come through the system.

"That’s what he’s done and, hopefully, he’ll sign a new deal.”
