A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after 21-year-old Rico Andrews was fatally shot in Battersea earlier this month.
The 23-year-old suspect was arrested on Thursday afternoon in Wandsworth and remains in police custody.
Mr Andrews died at the scene of the shooting in Shuttleworth Road, Battersea, around 9.50pm on October 5.
Officers were scrambled to the scene after residents reported gunshots, and they found the victim on the ground with fatal injuries. Despite officers' first-aid and the help of paramedics, his life could not be saved.
A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest.
Detectives urged the public to continue making contact with information as they investigate the killing.
Met Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who leads the investigation, said: “While we have made an arrest in this investigation I must stress that we still need help from the public.
“I continue to appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw events unfold, or anyone who has captured this incident on phone or doorbell footage, to contact police immediately.”
Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or contact via Twitter @MetCC, quoting CAD 8285/05OCT.
