Ricky Wilson has apologised following a drunk and chaotic performance on Saturday night.
The Kaiser Chiefs frontman, 44, has vowed that he is 'doing everything that is necessary' to better himself after he appeared to slur his words and stagger on stage during the band's set at London’s O2 Arena.
Following the chaotic performance, attendees at the concert took to Twitter to beg the star to help himself by quitting the booze or going to rehab.
The I Predict A Riot singer has now apologised for the show and has promised Kaiser Chief fans that he will do better next time.
In a statement on social media, Ricky said that he had fallen into 'old drinking habits' and had let himself down.
"I don’t want to make any lame excuses, I’ve met some challenges in this life I’ve led, and stayed on top of them with the support I’ve always had around me," Ricky wrote.
“The truth is I made a mistake on Saturday night at the O2, and relied on old drinking habits, it’s a mistake that upset and disappointed many of you, and some of those closest to me.
“I try to take pride in not letting people down and seem to have let myself down in that respect the other night. I’m doing everything that is necessary for me not to let that happen again. And will continue to.”
Following the drama surrounding the chaotic performance on Saturday night, Ricky and The Kaiser Chiefs are expected on stage in Hull tonight.
The band, who have been together for a successful 22 years, are currently on tour across the UK.
Ricky's apologetic statement comes after his fans shared their disappointment following his behaviour on stage at London's O2 Arena - with some concert-goers even walking out of the gig halfway through.
One unimpressed fan tweeted: "Drunk and disorderly performance is an understatement for what I witnessed tonight. Such a shambles. Unfortunately, this has to be the worst live performance I’ve ever seen in my life.”
"Ricky Wilson just ruined the concert that I have been waiting all year for. Turning up drunk and not even able to remember the words to his own songs. I'm so disappointed," another raged.
Someone else wrote: "I hope Ricky gets the support he need and deserves. And make it up to the band please… It was painful to watch as a fan."
"I can't help but feel bad for him even as angry as I feel right now. Something must be going on for him to be that drunk on stage," a fourth fan of the band tweeted.
"One word. Rehab," someone else savagely tweeted.
The Mirror has reached out to Ricky's representatives as well as a representative for Kaiser Chiefs for comment.
