Ricky Hatton has branded Jake Paul a “k***head” for his actions towards Irish hero Katie Taylor.
Paul’s fighter Amanda Serrano suffered a split-decision defeat to Taylor in an instant boxing classic at the weekend. Promoter Paul caused a stir by taking to social media, where he claimed his fighter was “robbed” in what was billed as the biggest women’s boxing match in history.
The controversial American had also launched a savage dig at both Taylor and her promoter Eddie Hearn before the bout, claiming the duo “talk a lot of s***” while taking full credit for making the fight happen.
Now boxing legend Hatton has voiced his anger at the YouTuber. Taking to Instagram, The Hitman gushed over Serrano and Taylor for their “historic” clash but took aim at “k***head” Paul for trying to take centre stage.
Hatton captioned his post: “OMG. What a fight. @katie_t86 & @serranosisters Inspirational girls. #historymakers.”
He added: “I see the YouTuber tried to steal the show? Trust me he didn’t. After that fight to say I made the fight & Katie Taylor’s full of s***??? #n**head.”
Serrano went close to ending the undefeated record of Taylor at Madison Square Garden. But she came up just short on the judges' scorecards, which read 93-96, 93-97 and 96-94, after the fight went the distance.
The Puerto Rican was humble in defeat while Paul disputed the legitimacy of the loss by posting a screenshot which read 'Serrano landed 173 shots to 147 for Taylor'.
He captioned the image: "Amanda Serrano out landed Katie Taylor in landed punches both to the body and head. Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don’t."
Paul’s behaviour before and after the fight has also been targeted by UFC legend Conor McGregor, who slammed the American for his choice of outfit ringside.
McGregor wrote on social media: "Who the f*** is this jackass in the pink Jimmy Saville glasses?"
After a lengthy response where Paul tried to ridicule McGregor for his recent fight record, the Irishman merely replied with a picture of Jimmy Saville.
