Ricky Gervais mocks longstanding foe James Corden over Balthazar restaurant ban

Ricky Gervais couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at James Corden after it was revealed he was temporarily banned from a restaurant over his behaviour.

The 61-year-old comedian – who has a longstanding feud with Corden – reshared a jokey tweek from a fan poking fun about the allegations.

The tweet, published from a Twitter account called Sue, included a clip from Gervais’s Netflix show After Life, where his character Tony mocks James.

In the clip, Kath – played by Diane Morgan – asks Gervais’s character Tony what his five dream dinner party guests would be. When she says her first one would be James Corden, Tony replies: “F*** me.”

The fan captioned the tweet: “James f*****g Corden #AfterLife @rickygervais Worst. Dinner party. Ever.”

Earlier this week, it was reported that Cordon had been banned from New York eaterie Balthazar for allegedly “yelling at staff like crazy”.

In a damning Instagram post shared by restaurateur Keith McNally, who owns the Balthazar chain, the Gavin and Stacey writer was called a “gifted comedian” but a “cretin of a man”.

Keith claimed that he had thrown Corden out after growing weary of his “treatment of my staff,” allegeging he had demanded a free round of drinks after finding a hair in his main course. While the second claimed the actor began “yelling like crazy“ to a server over an omelette.

He later decided to overturn the ban after the comedian “profusely apologised”, saying he was a believer in “second chances”.
