Bemused Motherwell boss Stevie Hammell says his side should have been given a penalty for a last-gasp foul on Ricki Lamie as his side fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Aberdeen.
Lamie appeared to be bundled down to the ground by Dons captain Anthony Stewart just before referee Euan Anderson blew for full-time.
Hammell was shocked that the referee didn't even seek advice from VAR on the incident, and claims fourth official Mike Roncone told him the final whistle meant they couldn't look at it.
When asked if Motherwell should have had a penalty, Hammell said: "Yes. We need to be very careful. The game is paused, whenever these decisions are made it's taking two or three minutes to make the decision.
"We felt we had two very strong [incidents] with a hand-ball and Ricki Lamie's strip, especially at the angle we've got, has been ripped from him right at the end.
"The full-time whistle goes, so for that to happen so quickly without the check, and then it's just 'there's the full-time whistle, the game is over'.
"We think these actions should have been looked at properly, especially the way we've seen them. It's a penalty, and these are big moments in the game, for sure."
Hammell added: "I didn't get an explanation. Nothing. Full-time, that's it, the game is over.
"The message was the game is over, it was almost instantly from the full-time whistle and we feel like it doesn't matter what time in the game it is. If these things happen it should still be looked at the same.
"It's supposed to be here to look at these things, or at the very least check it, but I don't believe that happened."
Aberdeen took a third-minute lead through Bojan Miovski, then had a second goal from Duk ruled out for offside 11 minutes in.
Kevin van Veen missed a gilt-edged opportunity and Blair Spittal hit the side-netting, before Connor Shields set up Stuart McKinstry to net an equaliser.
However, Jack MacKenzie crossed for Duk to head in the winner in 68 minutes, leaving Hammell feeling sore.
He said: "It's difficult. It seems to be the way it is just now, we lost by the single goal again in a game we had a lot of.
"We created a lot of chances, especially in the second half when we were dominant, but Aberdeen went up the pitch once and scored.
"Any chances that fell to us today, by and large we didn't take them."
