Rick Astley dubbed an 'absolute vibe' for going on BBC Breakfast in his pyjamas

Rick Astley seemingly impressed BBC Breakfast viewers this morning as he appeared on the show in his pyjamas. As the Never Gonna Give You Up hitmaker was welcomed by hosts Sally Nugent and Jon Kay via a live video feed from his South London home, many fans were quick to comment on his choice of outfit online.

The 57-year-old looked as though he didn't get out of bed until shortly before his interview, where he spoke about his upcoming performance at Glastonbury Festival this year. The singer-songwriter, who returned to the charts in 2016 for the first time in nearly 30 years with the release of his album 50, is due on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm on June 24.

Speaking about his chance to sing at the world-famous festival in Somerset, Astley said: “Obviously, it is an amazing honour and a privilege to play there, I get to play on the Pyramid stage which is absolutely bonkers to be honest. I’ll be early by the way, I’ll be very early on the Saturday, a bit too early so there you go.

"I’m still in my pyjamas now, I might do it in my pyjamas, to be honest." Pointing to his attire, he added: "They are actually my pyjamas." Viewers took to Twitter to speak about his look, which went down a treat for many - so much so, some asked for it to be a regular occurrence on the show.

Lecv Rick declared: "Astley doing @BBCBreakfast in his pyjamas is an absolute vibe." Georgialewis76 added: "I salute Rick Astley appearing on #bbcbreakfast in his pyjamas."

Chimpman typed: "Rick Astley in his pyjamas, appropriate somehow." Mysteron_Voice laughed: "Rick Astley is actually still in his pyjamas... ROCK N ROLL..."

SannyEmmy admitted: "Oh love Rick Astley in his pyjamas on #bbcbreakfast has made my morning." truebluenig09 gushed: "@BBCBreakfast Brilliant !!! Rick Astley live on the BBC in his pyjamas!!! What a guy."

It is not the first time Astley has been popular on the internet, becoming a meme sensation with 'Rickrolling', which involves tricking someone into clicking a link for something they want to view, only to be confronted with Astley’s 1987 hit Never Gonna Give You Up.

Continuing with his talk about Glastonbury, the singer went on to say: "I’m ashamed to say I have never performed there, I’ve never even been to Glastonbury. I’ve dropped my daughter off several times. As a performer and someone who has been on stage most of my life, this one’s a big one, there’s no doubt about it.

"We’ve all done it, we’ve all watched Glastonbury on the BBC and gone, ‘wow that is monster’, so to actually walk out on that stage is going to be crazy."
