Leeds Rhinos star Richie Myler has welcomed his new child into the world with partner Stephanie Thirkill.
Myler, 32, was a notable absentee from the squad named to face Hull KR on Friday evening, having been named in the extended 21-man squad. However, Rhinos coach Rohan Smith confirmed that his absence was due to the arrival of his fourth child, with a decision made to give him time away from the field following the news.
The Rhinos boss said: "Richie has spent a bunch of time in hospital with the birth of his new little baby, so we've given him a little time off to settle in at home."

Thirkill, the daughter of Rhinos president Andrew, and Myler announced they were expecting a child last year and have now been able to celebrate the good news. The pair got together after Myler's split from Channel 4 rugby league presenter, Helen Skelton.
Myler, a key player for the Rhinos, has provided six assists in as many games for Leeds so far this season. His absence has provided an opportunity for new signing Luke Hooley, who will make his debut at fullback after his off-season move from Championship side Batley Bulldogs.
Myler is an Ireland international who has made over 350 career appearances. He has in his sixth season at Headingley but has previously played for Warrington Wolves, Salford Red Devils and Catalans Dragons.
Meanwhile, Nene Macdonald has missed the game with a calf niggle, Smith confirmed.
