James stole the show with his crisp route running and sure hands, which will make him a trusted target for Patrick Mahomes when Kansas City takes the field in the preseason and beyond.
The former New York Giant also flashed some upside after the catch, showing off an elusiveness that might surprise some fans who are unfamiliar with his game.

A former seventh-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers, James is looking to find sustained success in Kansas City after putting up impressive numbers with the Giants last season. If he can continue building chemistry with his quarterbacks and competing for snaps at practice, James may be a sure thing to crack the Chiefs’ 53-man roster ahead of the regular season kickoff in September.
