Richarlison told brutal Arsenal admission amid Edu striker plan as Tottenham near £60m unveiling

Jack Wilshere has joked that he would emigrate to Australia if Tottenham win the Premier League amid Tottenham Hotspur signing of Richarlison. The 25-year-old striker has been unveiled as Antonio Conte's fourth signing of the summer.

The Brazil international completed a medical abroad today after Spurs agreed a £60million fee with Everton for his signature, football.london understand. An agreement was reached late on Wednesday evening; Spurs will reportedly table £50million up-front plus another £10million in add-ons.

Richarlison, who has been on holiday following the international break, was heavily linked with an exit from Goodison Park amid interest from a host of Premier League sides, though Tottenham have proven victorious in their efforts. football.london also understand that agreeing personal terms proved not to be an issue.

football.london understand that the Brazilian is available to fly out on Spurs' pre-season tour to South Korea on July 9 after his holiday. The Toffees were embroiled in a relegation battle, though he still managed to impress and steer the Merseyside club to safety.

However, despite the striker's promising displays, Wilshere has insisted that the Brazilian wouldn't feature in Arteta's starting-eleven. Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Arsenal midfielder said: "I think he improves the squad, definitely. He gives them something different.

"I wouldn’t say I’m gutted [that he’s not signed for Arsenal]. He’s 25, so not young. There comes a point where you’re going to have to turn that potential into something but to be fair if any one can do it, it’s Antonio Conte.

"I wouldn’t say I’m devastated as an Arsenal fan but he could be one to watch, he could be really good. He’d definitely challenge for it and be a good part of the squad but I don’t think he gets in the XI."

Then, asked what he’d do if Spurs were to become Premier League champions, Wilshere joked: "I’m moving to Australia if that ever happens!"

Arteta is said to also be in the market for a new striker following the departures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. However, making the first move isn't always the right one...
