Richarlison hat-trick spares Tottenham pre-season embarrassment in comeback win over Lion City

Tottenham came from behind to beat Singapore side Lion City Sailors 5-1 as Richarlison smashed a second-half hat-trick.

Spurs dominated the pre-season friendly and finished up with 37 shots to their opponents’ four, only one of which hit the target as Lion City snatched a surprise lead after 14 minutes.

Former Belgium youth international Maximme Lestienne produced a superb cross for Shawal Anuar to divert past Guglielmo Vicario and set Lion City on course for a shock victory.

However, Harry Kane levelled the score from the spot in first-half stoppage time after the impressive Pape Matar Sarr was fouled in the box.

Ange Postecoglou switched to a new starting XI for the second half, bringing on Manor Solomon, Richarlison and Ivan Perisic as his new front three with Giovani Lo Celso in behind.

It was the Argentine who created the second goal shortly after the break, drifting in from the left before a shot popped up for Richarlison to score.

The striker poached a second goal from a defensive error before Solomon’s cross found its way to Lo Celso for 4-1.

Richarlison completed the scoring, and his hat-trick, in stoppage time with a cute finish after a neat passing move down the centre of the pitch.
