Former Seattle Seahawk and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Richard Sherman pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges on Monday which resulted from his arrest last summer on July 14.
Sherman had originally been booked on suspicion of driving under the influence, reckless endangerment of roadway workers, second-degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest and third-degree malicious mischief.
“I’m grateful for the community we have and the way people continue to accept you even though you’re a flawed human being and made a mistake,” Sherman told the court via the Associated Press.
Under the terms of the deal reached with the King County prosecutor, Sherman entered guilty pleas to first-degree negligent driving and second-degree criminal trespass. He also admitted to the criminal infraction of speeding in a roadway construction zone.
Sherman was not sentenced to any additional days in jail and will receive credit for his time served.
