Good Morning Britain took an unexpected turn when Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid had to pause the show to deliver breaking news about an AI-generated video posted by Donald Trump. The clip shared on his Truth Social platform, appeared to show Trump’s vision for Gaza, featuring golden statues of himself and a “Trump Gaza” monument.
“As the prime minister Keir Starmer heads to Washington to meet Donald Trump, the president has posted a frankly weird ‘what’s next’ for Gaza,” Richard announced. “It’s an AI video on his Truth Social platform. Gird yourselves, this is what it is.”
The surreal video then played on air, showing AI-generated Trump with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu relaxing by a hotel pool, while Elon Musk strolls along a beach as money rains from the sky. A song plays over the footage with the lyrics: “Donald’s coming to set you free, bringing the light for all to see, no more tunnels, no more fear: Trump Gaza’s finally here.”

Richard and Susanna looked stunned when the camera returned to the GMB desk, turning to commentators Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire for their reactions. “Jaw-dropping,” Andrew said, while Kevin didn’t hold back: “Trump shouldn’t be in The White House, he should be in an asylum.”
Andrew quickly pushed back, pointing out, “Hang on, he’s won an election, Kevin. He’s won an election.” Susanna was just as bewildered, adding: “He’s won an election and he’s posting this. There is devastation and death in Gaza.”
Kevin continued, highlighting the gravity of the situation: “47,000 people have been killed in that war, the vast majority of them women and children – they weren’t Hamas, they weren’t fighters. In Israel, they must have had about 2,000 deaths in all now given the number of soldiers who died in Gaza. And he’s doing that. He wants to evict two million people, forcibly evict two million people.”
The conversation then shifted to Defence Secretary John Healey, who was brought on to discuss the video and Keir Starmer’s upcoming visit to the US.
Richard didn’t mince words when questioning Healey: “How do you deal with a man like this? How do you deal with the leader of the Western world who’s posting the kind of videos that a teenager would put together in their bedroom?”
John responded diplomatically: “You recognise that this is a president who likes to change the frame of reference and sometimes that can bring steps forward. When you look at Ukraine, for instance, his pledge to end that war, his pledge to bring Putin to the negotiating table, his pledge to put pressure onto Putin to negotiate a durable peace, which only the US is powerful enough to do, is welcome and we will work with that.
“So when Keir Starmer goes to Washington and meets with President Trump tomorrow, he will be discussing the plan that Britain is leading preparations for – a point in which he may get an end to the fighting, in which security guarantees may be required.”
The bizarre video has left many questioning Trump’s messaging at such a critical time, especially as world leaders try to navigate the ongoing conflict.
