Richard Madeley's two marriages, 10 affairs and multi-million net worth

Richard Madeley has had a hugely successful career in television over the past four decades and the 66-year-old presenter is now a staple on British TV.

Richard became a regular on Good Morning Britain last year after Piers Morgan sensationally quit the breakfast show.

He's since signed a contract to take on a permanent part-time presenting gig on GMB and has quickly garnered attention for his unusual presenting style on the show, often being compared to the comedy character Alan Partridge.

But it's his iconic relationship with his wife that shot him to fame, with the pair becoming the power couple of British TV during their long marriage.

Here's everything you need to know about Richard's current wife, as well as who else he's been married to, and his huge net worth.

Who has Richard Madeley been married to?

Richard Madeley is now married to fellow TV presenter and writer Judy Finnigan.

The presenter met Judy, who is now 74 years old, when they were both working in the Granada TV newsroom and she was assigned as his mentor.

Speaking to the Mirror about the moment they first met, Judy said: "I remember the first time I saw him. He walked into the newsroom and I was sitting at my desk at the other end.

"I remember exactly what he was wearing: a pale blue linen suit. I thought he looked nice. Tall, handsome and all that but I thought the suit was a bit flash. Then, because he was a newbie, I was assigned the job of looking after him."

They went on to marry in 1986 and have two children together, Chloe and Jack Madeley, and even presented their own hugely popular chat show, Richard And Judy, in the early 2000s.

But both presenters were married when they initially met. Judy was married to journalist David Henshaw and they had a set of twins together, Tom and Dan Henshaw.

Meanwhile, Madeley was previously married to Lynda Hooley, who he wed at the age of 21.

But he's since admitted that the marriage was a mistake and that he had many affairs during their time together.

Speaking about how many women he bedded during the six-year marriage, he told the Mirror: "Oh lots, numerous, probably in the space of about five years, about 10."

He added: "Although the marriage had some very happy moments, there was a lot of negativity in it. I’m not using that as an excuse. It’s wrong to have affairs, but I was a very young man."

What is Richard Madeley's net worth?

Richard Madeley reportedly signed a £300,000 contract with ITV (ITV)

Richard Madeley currently has an estimated net worth of $5million (£4.2million), according to Celebrity Net Worth.

The presenter began his media career when he was just a teenager, starting off at local newspapers before moving to BBC Radio Carlisle and from there launched a career in television.

During his TV career, he's presented a vast amount of programmes, including Cluedo, Tonight With Richard Madeley And Judy Finnigan, Fortune: Million Pound Giveaway and The Wright Stuff.

Richard and his wife Judy were the first ever presenters of ITV's This Morning, presenting the show from 1988 until 2001. Their popularity on the show led to the creation of Channel 4's Richard and Judy, which the couple presented from 2001 to 2009.

In 2016 Richard started as a relief presenter on Good Morning Britain, filling in for other presenters when they were off and last year he started to frequently join the show as a guest presenter following Piers Morgan's departure.

He's now secured a permanent contract to be a part-time presenter alongside a "revolving family of presenters" that have replaced Piers Morgan.

The deal could add nicely to his fortune as it's reported to be worth £300,000.
