Richard Madeley goes against Good Morning Britain as he asks 'how much longer' after viewer complaints

Richard Madeley appeared to echo the complaints of viewers as he returned to Good Morning Britain. The presenter was back hosting the ITV news programme alongside Susanna Reid on Tuesday morning (January 10) and once again, Prince Harry was the hot topic of conversation.

The hosts were discussing the release of the Duke of Sussex's memoir, entitled Spare, which was released today, as well as the release of his penultimate interview to promote his autobiography, the second of three conducted in the US with only one, by Tom Bradby on ITV, conducted for UK TV.

As they discussed today's papers, which were dominated by coverage of Prince Harry, alongside Kevin Maguire and Andrew Pierce, Richard appeared tired as he said: "There are other stories..." before sharing some of the other stories hitting the headlines.

Soon after, the 62-year-old said: "How much longer do you think we'll wake up and see the scowling face of Prince Harry on the front pages. How much longer can this story run?" As Kevin began to reply, Richard asked: "Is that his final interview?" to which Kevin said: "We assume."

Later, Richard addressed his comments when Susanna said: "According to Richard, we talk about [Prince Harry] far too much on this programme." But defending what he said, Richard commented: "Look, you've talked about the programme that went out on Sunday.. the hard facts is, this is just a reflection of information.

"I mean, more people watched Happy Valley on BBC One than watched the actual interview. I think that tells you something. I would be surprised if this is still on the front page tomorrow." He then better Susanna a pound that only one tabloid will have Prince Harry on the front page on Wednesday with the pair shaking on it.

Also during the show, Susanna and Richard were joined by Prince Harry's 'old flame' Catherine Ommanney who joined them live in the studio. Appearing on GMB, Catherine, who is best known for starring in the US Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of D.C, was quizzed about her brief romance with the prince, with them going on a number of dates with Prince Harry in 2006. She confirmed that they met at a restaurant dinner party and they bonded over their mutual friends in Australia and had good humour with one another.

Catherine, who was 13 years Harry's senior at the time of their fling, also recalled how they met and why they got on so well and says she feels 'sad for him and the royal family' in the aftermath of his revelations. But the interview didn't go down well with viewers.

American TV personality Judy Sheindlin - aka 'Judge Judy' - also weighed in on Prince Harry's memoir, Spare. When asked by GMB journalist Noel Phillips about how she'd feel if it had been her grandchild or child that spoke publicly about her private life, Judge Judy, 80, said: "I will tell you that I would be furious and would think that child or grandchild was a selfish, spoilt, ungrateful one. That's what I would feel and I'd be really hurt."

Judge Judy also commented on Harry's memoir (ITV)

She added: "I think that anyone with a brain would see that. It's disingenuous to the hand that fed you and it's unseemly." While she didn't outwardly reference Prince Harry or his wife Meghan Markle, it is implied she was talking about him.

Following the interview, Richard commented: "Judge Judy doesn’t hold back on her verdict does she... blimey!" To which and amused Susanna then told him: "She said she wouldn’t specifically talk about what she thought about… blimey. I think we were left in no doubt."
