Rich Paul and LeBron James have been friends for over 20 years, so the famed sports agent will never miss an opportunity to defend the Lakers star. This time, he decided to compare him to Stephen Curry to make a point.
While on the Gil’s Arena podcast, the panel of personalities in attendance were posed the question, “How legit is the Lakers ‘bubble ring?’” This was in reference to Los Angeles’s 2020 NBA title they won during the COVID-19 pandemic where teams were forced to play without any fans in attendance in Orlando.
Paul defended the championship’s legitimacy and brought Curry into the conversation to try and make a point. It appears Paul was trying to make the argument that hate for James is the only reason why the championship is ever questioned.

“If Steph wins in the bubble, do they discredit it?” he asked the panel.
The panel gave a resounding yes, to which Paul disagreed. After he won the championship in 2020, James went on to proclaim that his accomplishment during that title run stands alone.
“I’ve been a part of two teams that won the two hardest championships in NBA league history,” James said in 2020.
James was referring to his 2016 championship against the 73–9 Warriors and his win in “The Bubble.” At the time, many fans disagreed and even now it looks like there’s debate on whether there’s an asterisk on the title.
