Ribble unveils 5 exquisite bikes with stunning custom paint jobs for Rouleur Live 2023

Close up on the Ribble x Vic Lee e-bike.

For Rouleur Live 2023, and as part of the brands year long 125th anniversary celebrations, Ribble has curated a striking collection of five bikes for the iconic three-day bike show and the stunning collection was unveiled at London’s Truman Brewery today.

The Lancashire-based brand recently launched a stunning hand-painted selection of gravel bikes with rock and stone-inspired colorways, that also included the addition of the new Shimano 105 R7100 12-speed groupset to their award-winning best gravel bike range. A range that includes a complete offering of the best bike frame materials from titanium and alloy to carbon framed models, and the steel-framed Ribble 725 that I recently reviewed.

Dubbed ‘The Edit’, the collection aims to reflect Ribble's premium paint schemes (Image credit: Ribble)

The collection is named ‘The Edit’ and aims to continue Ribble's premium paint schemes and finishes, and reflect their artistry in custom hand-built bicycles. It includes a bespoke Ultimate Urban e-bike ‘Hand Inked’ in collaboration with London artist Vic Lee, a hand-marbled Gravel SL ridden at the Gravel Worlds, and a distinctive etched and brushed finished Titanium Allroad prototype.

Also on show is a unique Ultra SL R Forces Edition with a military-inspired design to mark the Royal British Legion’s London Poppy Day and a sub-UCI weight limit Superlight Endurance SL R in a stunning metallic paint finish. For anyone lucky enough to be going to Rouleur Live 2023, the bikes will be on show at the Ribble stand numbered 192, and for those not attending we had a look over the details of the bikes…

Ribble x Vic Lee – The Vic Lee E

The collaboration between Ribble and award-winning ‘Inkist’ Vic Lee has resulted in what they call the ultimate urban e-bike, which is hand-painted by Vic and creates an art piece with a design inspired by a bike ride from the brand’s original store in Preston to the Rouleur Live venue at the Truman Brewery in London.

Vic Lee is renowned for transforming urban spaces and unique items from cars to whiskey bottles through his unique artistic storytelling and highly refined illustration. He is without a doubt, an artistic phenomenon, and for the Ribble urban e-bike, Vic has ‘Inked’ the entire frame, fork, seat post and bar in his own style and looks incredibly stunning.

The alloy framed Vic Lee E special edition is powered by a Mahle SmartBike System with a Panasonic 250Wh battery. There is a carbon fork and also includes an FSA SiC integrated ICR carbon flat bar, SRAM AXS XPLR 1 x 12 groupset with Hope RX Crankset and Spiderless Chainring. Braking comes from Hope and their Tech 4 Levers, combined with X2 calipers and Hope floating rotors. It rolls on Mavic Cosmic SL45 with Mahle X35 hubs wrapped in Pirelli Angel GT Urban, 42mm tires. The build is completed with a Level 3 carbon seatpost and Brooks Cambium Carved saddle.

The Ribble Gravel SL Worlds Edition is part of the Ribble Stone Collection created for Ribble riders who competed at this years Gravel World Championships in Veneto, Italy. This Gravel SL was ridden by the Ribble Collective's Metheven Bond, and is straight back from Italy still including its race number and Veneto dirt. It will be featured in the Panaracer Gravel Gallery at Rouleur Live. Ribble created a special Gravel SL Marble Hero build for these bikes and come with Shimano GRX Di2 1x11-Speed, Zipp 303 S wheels and Level 5 Carbon Integrated flared handlebars

Ribble Allroad Ti Prototype

The all-new Allroad is a titanium frame that has an additive-manufactured head-tube and seat-tube clusters. This process was specifically chosen to further enhance the design and improve aerodynamics. It features internal cable routing, an integrated seat clamp and the ability to blend optimized tube profiles. It also gave Ribble the freedom to create tube shapes with a high strength-to-weight ratio. The frame is ‘brush finished’ titanium with an ‘Ice Marble’ fork and cockpit, and is completed with Ice Blue etched logo and embossed head badge.

The build has a selection of carbon goodies including a carbon fork, a Ribble RS-2 Prototype stem, Ribble UB-2 Prototype carbon aero handlebar. It runs on a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 2 x 12 groupset with Hope RX4+ calipers and Hope rotor brakes. Hope RD40 carbon wheels with Pro5 hubs, Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H Classic 35mm tires, Level 3 carbon seatpost, and a Selle Italia SLR Boost 3D-printed saddle complete this prototype build.

Ribble Ultra SL R Forces Edition

The Forces Edition takes its artistic interpretation and cue from the legendary WWII Spitfire aircraft livery adorned with Allied striping and RAF logo on the green fuselage and has been designed to coincide with the launch of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Day. The design creatively represents the forces and honors all service men and women. The design has been applied to Ribble’s flagship road model, the aerodynamically optimized Ultra SL R, the Forces Edition features an authorized one-off Royal British Legion logo adorned Kapz Titanium Top Cap.

A carbon monocoque frame, Ultra aero integrated handlebar is paired with SRAM Red AXS Aero 1 x 12 groupset with CeramicSpeed OSPW Aero System, Zipp 454 NSW Carbon Tubeless Disc Wheelset, Pirelli P Zero Race TLR 30mm tires, Ribble Ultra SL R Seatpost and a Selle Italia SLR Boost 3D Kit Carbonio Superflow 3D-printed saddle.
