A new city centre office building, a faculty of arts and a school are among a group of property projects shortlisted in an annual regional awards.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has unveiled the nine finalists in its 2023 West Midlands Awards.
The list includes Two Chamberlain Square in Birmingham, University of Warwick's Faculty of Arts and Houlton School in Rugby (scroll down to see all nine finalists).
The annual awards celebrate the best architecture among new builds and restoration projects across a host of regions, with winners being taken forward to the national finals and the chance to be considered for the prestigious Stirling Prize for outstanding architecture.
Architect Will Gamble chaired the West Midlands judging panel.
He said: "This year's shortlist celebrates the rich tapestry of architecture that is found within the West Midlands, in both rural and urban settings.
"There is a strong emphasis on responding to our historic environment through adaptive reuse and sensitive contextual design.
"Each project demonstrates how low-carbon technologies can be successfully integrated into well crafted buildings - raising the benchmark for holistic design."
All shortlisted projects will be assessed by a regional jury with the winners announced later this spring and the national winners revealed in the summer.
Regional winners will also be considered for several RIBA Special Awards including the sustainability and building of the year prizes and the Stirling Prize will be announced in October.
