Rhyse Martin had a day to forget from the kicking tee during Leeds Rhinos' victory over Catalans Dragons - and even had the referee poking fun at him. Martin, a prolific goal-kicker throughout his time at Headingley, had a terrible afternoon with the boot as he missed five consecutive conversions.
Thankfully, his wayward radar didn't impact the outcome as the Rhinos surged from behind to win 32-22 and get their season up and running after a disappointing defeat to Castleford last time out.
Martin had an eventful afternoon. In the first half he scored a spectacular solo try but countered that by gifting Catalans a score when trying to offload on his own line, only for Paul Seguier to mop up and score the easiest try of his career.

After the game he spoke to Channel 4 and addressed his struggles from the tee, noting that referee Liam Moore had even made fun of his troubles.
"We'll forget about today" Martin said. "I just apologised to Rohan, some days it's not happening. It's my job and I pride myself on it. Today probably wasn't good enough but I'll make sure to keep working hard."
Martin did finally get a conversion on the board after Harry Newman's try from under the sticks. Though he admitted to having extra pressure on his shoulders after Moore had a quiet word.
"The ref, Liam whispered to me 'don't miss this one'. I was like 'you're going to jinx me here'. It got me even more nervous after that!"
But his head was quick to defend him after highlighting the challenges that came from the wind that swirled around Headingley throughout the game.
"There was a tough wind today," Smith said. "Everyone wants to be a goal-kicker in the conditions. They were tough. tough conditions, kicking this way particularly."
