Rhyan Grant insists he has no regrets about remaining in the A-League Men as the Sydney FC stalwart celebrates another career milestone.
Grant, 32, made his debut 15 years ago this weekend and is in line to notch up his 307th appearance for Sydney at home against Western United on Saturday.
The rightback, who has won 21 caps for the Socceroos, holds the club's appearance record and his trademark mullet and habit of scoring crucial goals have endeared him to Sky Blues supporters.
But unlike many of his peers, and despite offers, Grant says he is content with his decision to not ply his trade overseas.
"One of our players Joe Lacey was only 18 months old when I made my debut - that puts it into perspective," Grant said.
"I've had some great times and memories ... I've been here for a pretty successful period on a personal level and on a team level.
"There were a few different opportunities over the years from different countries, but there was nothing that sort of swayed me enough to leave.
"I'm probably a person who won't take too many risks.
"There were a few times it probably got close but I'm happy to stand here as a one-club player."
Grant said new Sydney boss Ufuk Talay ramped up training this week after a 3-0 thumping away to Melbourne Victory.
The results have yet to come for Talay's side who sit 10th - level with Western on points - with just two wins heading into round nine.
But Grant said it was only a matter of time before Sydney turned their statistical dominance into wins.
"For most of the games we've had majority of possession, it's just about being a little bit more ruthless in front of goal," Grant said.
"If we take some of those chances the game turns out a little bit differently.
"But I think we're very close and we've shown what we can do.
"The style that he's playing is very attractive football and very high energy and hopefully we can just get a few results and get on a bit of a roll now."
Meanwhile, former Sydney midfielder Patrick Yazbek was back training with the club on Thursday during his off-season break from Norwegian side Viking.
Socceroos boss Graham Arnold names his squad for the Asian Cup on Friday and uncapped Yazbek's faint hope of selection will have been boosted by Massimo Luongo's retirement earlier this week.
