Rhian Brewster warmed up for a potential spot on Liverpool's Champions League final bench with a goal for the Under-23s on Friday.
The 19-year-old's strike was enough to settle the game in the young Reds' favour as Neil Critchley's side beat Club Brugge in a post-season friendly.
Brewster converted a second-half penalty to earn the victory for his side in Belgium ahead of what will be an important couple of weeks for the teenager.
With Jurgen Klopp able to name 12 substitutes on his bench for the Champions League final in Madrid on June 1, Brewster is likely to be named in the Spanish capital.
It would be further evidence of how highly rated Brewster is by Klopp and his staff after he was also selected to be part of the substitutes for Liverpool's recent 4-0 win over Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.
Liverpool legend says Raheem Sterling does not have to justify himself for Man City switch
"It was nice to see Rhian score," Critchley told Liverpoolfc.com after the game.
"It was a good standard game, it was a close game. As the scoreline suggests, there was nothing in the game between the two teams and it was decided by Rhian’s penalty.
"It was a good end-of-season game for us."
Brewster is yet to make his senior debut at Anfield but will do so next season after impressing staff at the club during his time as a Reds player.
Klopp moved him up to the senior ranks earlier this season as he recovered from long-term ankle and leg injuries in an attempt to give the player experience of first-team involvement at Anfield.
