Like A Dragon Gaiden, one of the new Yakuza action games RGG Studio is cooking up, is set for launch in fall 2023, Sega announced during Summer Game Fest 2023. The next chapter in Kazuma Kiryu’s story releases Nov. 9, 2023, for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5.
Like A Dragon Gaiden, officially called Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name, follows Kiryu long after the events of Yakuza 6, when Kiryu gave up his life as a yakuza and went into hiding. This is Kiryu, though, which means he won’t be staying out of action for long. A shadowy figure coaxes Kiryu out of hiding and tasks him with protecting a vulnerable person.
Kiryu goes undercover, adopting a new identity and gaining a new set of abilities in the process, the Agent Style. Kiryu the agent moves more quickly and strikes with proficiency, and he also gets a range of handy gadgets to ruin a thug’s day with.
This is a Yakuza game, so there’s naturally more than just a high-stakes story with drama and action. Kiryu can relax at the karaoke bar, train at a battle arena, or even dip his toes back into the classic Pocket Circuit mini-game.
Like A Dragon Gaiden pre-orders are open now, and they come with a fighter pack for the battle arena, which includes Goro Majima, Taiga Saejima, and Daigo Dojima.
