During his confirmation hearing on Wednesday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claimed a majority of American children are "damaged," including his own brood.
"When I launched my campaign, it was about uniting Americans," Kennedy stated in a clip circulating on X. "There's no issue that should unite us more than this chronic health epidemic. There's no such thing as Republican children or Democratic children. These are our kids."
"Sixty-six percent of them are damaged. I know what a healthy kid looks like because I had so many of them in my family. I didn't know anybody with a food allergy growing up," Kennedy continued. "Why do five of my kids have allergies?"

While it's true that the population of people who suffer from allergies has increased since Kennedy Jr. was growing up in the '60s and '70s, from about 3% of the global population in 1960 to 7% in 2018, per the BBC, there are several theories as to why this has occurred.
One is that people are more aware of allergies, leading to an increase in cases. Another is that people aren't as exposed to useful bacteria as they used to be, and that includes modern homes built with biocide-treated timber and plasterboard.
A third theory, as reported by the BBC, is that as people are depriving themselves of Vitamin D by spending more time indoors, consuming technology.
In the past, RFK Jr. has blamed allergies on vaccines, which are also full of aluminum. However, this assertion has baffled scientists, according to reporting by the New York Times, since it's one of the most studied ingredients in vaccines.
