Britain’s most prolific rapist is reported to have narrowly avoided serious injury after being attacked in prison in an alleged vigilante hit by other inmates.
Reynhard Sinaga, 41, was unmasked in 2020 as one of Britain’s worst-ever sexual predators after being convicted of 159 offences including rapes against young men he drugged. He was linked to more than 190 potential victims.
He is said to have narrowly avoided serious injury in an attack at HMP Wakefield in July, where he is serving life with a minimum term of 40 years.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Sinaga is arrogant and universally loathed. He is a clear target in prison because of his depraved crimes.
“He was seconds away from extremely serious harm. He is in danger.”
The alleged attack is said to have been stopped by prison guards.
The paper reported fellow inmate Jack McRae, 32, has been charged with attempted GBH with intent of Sinaga, 41.
He is also charged with the same offence against child killer rapist Wilbert Dyce at Wakefield in 2023.
McRae is also accused of ABH on inmates Sayed Taheri, Patrick Harrington and Andrew Gillis.
Another man, Andrew Beadie, is jointly charged with the alleged attack on Taheri.
McRae is due before Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
Sinaga, originally from Indonesia, "stalked" his victims who had become separated from friends on nights out before leading them to his Princess Street flat in Manchester city centre.
He would then drug his victims before filming himself assaulting them.
His depraved crimes were discovered after one victim regained consciousness and fought him off in 2017.
The victim then went to the police and crucially handed in Sinaga's phone which contained the sick videos of his crimes.
