Rey Mysterio vows to put Logan Paul and The Miz "in their place" at WrestleMania

WWE legend Rey Mysterio fired a strong warning towards WrestleMania opponents The Miz and Logan Paul. The iconic Lucha Libre star will team up with his son Dominik to take on the eight-time intercontinental champion and the social media star in a blockbuster tag team match at the Showcase of the Immortals.

The Miz and the Mysterios have been at loggerheads for most of this year and following the 'Master of the 619's' victory over the host of 'Miz TV' at Elimination Chamber in February, he is keen to exact his revenge on the father-son duo.

He has since enlisted the help of Paul to bolster his chances of doing so, and in typical fashion, The Miz has been doing his utmost to win the psychological battle before their clash at the AT&T Stadium on April 2. Logan helped Miz attack the Mysterios on an episode of Monday Night Raw last month, but last week, Miz took things to another level by ripping Rey’s sacred mask off his face.

In an exclusive chat with Mirror Sport, the former WWE champion vowed to end Miz and Paul’s antics on the sport’s grandest stage alongside his son. "He stepped in the ring with the wrong people, and we have to put him (Paul) in his place, and not just him, Miz as well," said a defiant Mysterio.

"We’re ready to put an end to this Miz and Logan Paul situation. The fact that Miz took my mask away last week, and he’s been showing it around on social media, thinking that’s a trophy, for me it’s disrespect."

He added: "He’s crossed a line and for me personally, going to have to put him in his place. I know Dom is very frustrated and upset at his behaviour and how he’s been handling things. We’re going to do whatever it takes to put them in their place."

Paul, who made appearances in WWE last year, was on the receiving end of a brutal Stone Cold Stunner from Kevin Owens at last year's WrestleMania. Fast forward a year and he will compete in his first ever WWE match, at none other than the industry’s biggest show.

The 26-year-old has history in combat sports and will put them to the test inside the squared circle against one of the sport’s most decorated talents. Many will be keen to see if Paul has a future in WWE beyond this Saturday. As far as Mysterio is concerned, he needs to see him in action first, and he’ll have the best seat in the house.

"I don’t know if he has a future right now," Rey shared. "But come WrestleMania Saturday, after his performance, I’ll be able to answer that question more clearly. He has an athletic background, he’s in great shape. Can he hang in a WWE ring? We’ll know on Saturday."

Mysterio has had a truly phenomenal career and will no doubt take his place in the WWE Hall of Fame in the future. The 2006 Royal Rumble winner has accomplished so much inside the ring and made history in the process, including winning the SmackDown tag team titles with Dominik, the first father-son duo to do so.

In previous interviews, Rey admitted he still had one goal he wanted to accomplish – to create a WrestleMania moment with his son. That dream will become a reality this weekend and Mysterio couldn’t be happier. "For me, it’s (WrestleMania) is very important because I get to share it with my son for the very first time," he gushed. "It’s a very exciting moment for my son and I, we have been preparing for this moment ever since we found out we were going to face them.

"We’re just ready to go out there, put the Mysterio name on top of the world and give our fans what they deserve." Also on WrestleMania Saturday, Charlotte Flair will defend her SmackDown women’s title against Ronda Rousey in the main event, while Becky Lynch puts her Raw women’s championship on the line against Bianca Belair. Furthermore, Stone Cold Steve Austin will be a special guest on what is sure to be the most explosive edition of the KO Show to date.
