A $500,000 reward has been offered to help solve the suspected murder of a woman whose remains were found hidden at a Brisbane unit complex.

Tanya Lee Glover's body was discovered by cleaners tightly wrapped and secreted behind a wall in an Alderley apartment block about 12 months ago.

Police believe she was murdered around January 2010.

"We want to deliver justice for Tanya Lee Glover," said Police Minister Mark Ryan, who announced the reward on Thursday.

A cause of death is yet to be determined due to the body's decomposition.

Ms Glover was aged about 38 when she died, police said.

She did not have close contact with family or many known friends and was never reported missing.

Ms Glover was hearing and vision impaired and a vulnerable person, police said.

It is believed she moved to Queensland from NSW in 2006 and lived in the inner Brisbane suburb of Fortitude Valley.

Mr Ryan thanked detectives who had dedicated themselves to solving the case but said it was now time for the community to assist.

"I have approved a reward in the amount of $500,000 for information which leads to the arrest and successful prosecution of the people responsible for this alleged murder," he told reporters.

"We need the community to help the police. We want the community to help deliver justice for Tanya."

Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll urged anyone with information to contact authorities to help bring closure for Ms Glover's family.

"We purposely did this at the 12-month mark to generate further discussion," she said.
