Jaylen Brown played a single season of college basketball with the University of California, Berkley Golden Bears before joining the Boston Celtics as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. He has since become one of professional basketball’s most intriguing players and ascendant stars.
Brown had great success as a high schooler in the Atlanta area, but took his talents to the West Coast for his college ball. During his time as a Golden Bear, Brown was named to All-Pac-12 First Team and was the 2016 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. Cal did not qualify for the NCAA Tournament that season, but Brown’s outstanding play was enough for him to earn the attention of his future NBA club, the Celtics.
