Review: Ormeau Road pizza place Little O's hits the spot for sit-in and takeaway

It can be hard to come by a decent pizza place that does good sit-in and takeaway options.

Little O's on the Ormeau Road ticks all the boxes for pizza lovers who may want to enjoy a slice not delivered in a cardboard box.

The restaurant, located a few doors down from The Hatfield Bar, offers pizzas, pastas, chicken and tasty desserts.

They've also recently opened a bar in the restaurant, serving delicious cocktails and beers to those sitting in.

The perfect size

Little O's are known across Belfast and beyond for their gigantic pizza - the Big O.

The 33-inch pizza is the perfect order for a party, or if you're feeling extremely peckish. If ordering for delivery you may need to open a window to fit it into your house. It's not called the Big O for nothing.

When sitting in at the weekend, our table ordered two pizzas, one chicken and pepperoni and one meat feast pizza. Both were the perfect size for our party and not a crust was left on our plates at the end of the night.

And for sides

Curly fries, french fries, chicken goujons - Little O's has a side that would please any customer. We ordered one of each and were not disappointed.

Portion sizes were spot on and the quality of the food was second to none. Pizza can feel almost like a fast-food style meal but our meal on Saturday night felt relaxed and enjoyable.

We were attending Dermot Kennedy at Belsonic that evening, so it was the ideal location for a bit to eat before our walk towards the Embankment.

Feel good atmosphere

While the Ormeau Road had a buzz about it on Saturday due to the concert, inside Little O's was the same.

Tables were filled with families and friends, some dressed to impress and others there for a bite to eat and a catch up.

Staff were incredibly friendly on arrival and helped each customer to their seats which are spaced out to ensure social distancing. Table service was quick and the food came out piping hot.

Pizza would be our go-to takeaway at the weekend, but after Saturday's meal, we'll make a point to return to Little O's to test out their other dishes.
