Two furious revellers claim a doorman at a nightclub in England refused them entry for "being Welsh".
Jonathan Lloyd and a friend had tried to get into MooMoo Clubrooms in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, after watching Welsh football team Wrexham AFC play Southend United.
However, the doorman allegedly refused to let them in because of their nationality.
An investigation has been launched by the nightclub, which says it "does not condone discrimination of any kind".
Jonathan, who says locals had recommended MooMoo Clubrooms to them, told Wales Online.
"The doorman, who heard our conversation, asked 'Are you Welsh?' to which we replied 'Yes'. The doorman then told us we weren't allowed in."
Both men were surprised by the refusal, especially as they weren't wearing football shirts and were smartly dressed.
Jonathan believes the fact he and his friend were Wrexham AFC supporters played no part in the doorman's decision.
He said: "We were standing in the queue, if he hadn't heard our accents we would have got in, so he basically didn't let us in because we're Welsh.
"We went back later on and tried again and the same doorman said 'Are you the Welsh boyos'.
"He didn't mention football or the fact Wrexham were playing. There were only two of us and we'd had no trouble anywhere else."
A spokesperson for the nightclub said: "We do not condone discrimination of any form in our venue. We have raised this alleged incident with our third-party contracted door team and an investigation is underway."
Last year a gay man was refused entry into a restaurant i n Manchester city centre after a bouncer said his outfit was “too, too much”.
Brandon Rogers, 21, from Cheadle Hulme, visited 20 Stories on November 9 as part of a group of six to celebrate his sister’s birthday.
As he arrived at the venue for cocktails, the bouncer told Brandon that his leopard print trousers were “too, too much” and he would not be allowed inside, but the remaining members of the party could enter if they wanted.
Posting on Twitter, Brandon’s sister Paris Osborne wrote: “We've just been out for my sister's birthday and my brother, who is the best dressed out of all of us and is extremely expressive and proudly gay, was denied entry to @20storiesMCR.
“The bouncer looked him up and down, said his 'pants are too too much', 'the leopard print, no.'
“But then let a man who was seen as more "male" who wore jeans that were discoloured, dirty and wore worn out trainers straight in."
