Arsenal tried to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo on two previous occasions, it has been reported.
The 22-year-old midfielder joined Forest from Brazilian club Palmeiras in the January transfer window, and has scored three goals in 13 starts from midfield as the Reds secured their Premier League status.
He is now being lined up for a recall to the Brazil national team, and it has emerged that Premier League high-flyers Arsenal have tried to sign the Forest star twice before.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal most recently tried to sign Danilo last summer, but both of their attempts to secure his signature fell through for "various reasons" that have not been disclosed in the report.
Danilo has been tipped to play for one of the 'biggest' clubs in the Premier League. Speaking last month, former teammate Dudu said: "For me, he needs to play in the Premier League. I always tell him, 'you have to play at Manchester United, at Arsenal.
"It's at those clubs. But you have to be calm, you have to have your head in place. He's a player who marks, who arrives in the attack, who builds play for the offensive midfielders, who helps in defending. For me, he is the complete player."
