There are few things I love more than off-road riding. Motorcycles and dirt? Chef's kiss. It's the perfect combination, like peanut butter and jelly.
I would rather ride off-road compared to the street nine times out of ten, as dirt is more fun, more forgiving, you get to see more sights, and there are fewer distracted drivers squarely aimed at running you over. There's also just nothing like it when you start riding in wild places like the backcountry trails and tracks I've found in my new-found home state of Utah.
But if you're going to go out riding and shredding mud, sand, dirt, rocks, and tree-lined trails, you want good gear. Gear that'll stand up to you slipping in some mud puddles, crashing into small or large trees, and getting scraped along rocky paths. Gear that'll get you home even after you had to "lay her down." And that's what REV'IT!'s new Sand 5 adventure jacket is designed to do.
To get you home.

The Sand 5 represents an evolution, not revolution, in the brand's jacket. Originally launched 15 years ago, REV'IT! has made countless improvements to the design over the years, both thanks to internal pushes, as well as listening to customer wants, needs, and concerns. The Sand 5, then, is said to be the best of the bunch. According to REV'IT!, "This ADV jacket enhances performance, versatility, and comfort—ensuring riders are equipped for every journey."
What that gets you is a more ergonomic fit than prior models, "optimized" for comfort and performance, CE-certified armor at the shoulders, back, and forearms, improved venting throughout, more smartly-designed pockets, and more adjustability than before. The Sand 5 jacket also is ready to accept Camel-bak0like backpacks, with a "new external 3L H2O liner with ripstop for added durability and weather protection."
Likewise, the Sand 5 works with the brand's "All-In-One" layering system, so no matter the heat, the cold, or the conditions, you can tailor your setup for whatever adventure you're in the mood for that day.
Customers will have access to five different colorways and a host of sizes. Alongside the Sand 5 jacket, REV'IT! also dropped a set of pants and gloves to match. Those, however, won't be available to purchase for a few months as production begins.
As for price, the Sand 5 jacket will set you back $530, while the pants will be $400, and the gloves $120. All in all, that isn't out of line for a good adventure jacket, nor pants and gloves. Especially one as replete with features as the Sand 5. So who's ready to plan their next adventure?
