Reuell Walters to Rangers transfer link after Arsenal contract rejected

Rangers are reportedly interested in a transfer swoop for Arsenal defender Reuell Walters.

The right-back, 19, is out of contract this summer and could move to Rangers for a compensation fee.

The Scotsman reports Walters is attracting interest from the Ibrox club. Sheffield United had been interested in signing the defender last summer.

Walters did not make a competitive appearance for Arsenal but was included in matchday squads on a number of occasions.

It's thought Arsenal were keen to keep hold of the teenager but a new contract offer was knocked back by the player.

Walters posted a farewell message to Arsenal on social media last month as he looks for a new club this summer.

He wrote: "Thank you to everyone that’s made this part of my career special.

"It’s been a pleasure playing for this club and I wish you all the best for the future ❤️"

Philippe Clement is set for a major Rangers rebuild this summer after announcing five players would leave the club.

John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Borna Barisic, Jon McLaughlin and Kemar Roofe have all left Ibrox after their deals expired.

Leon Balogun signed a one-year contract extension at Rangers while Clement has already secured his first two summer signings.

Brazilian left-back Jefte joined the club on a four-year deal with Oscar Cortes returning to Rangers on a one-year loan with an obligation to buy.
