Return flights to Iceland £500 cheaper this bank holiday weekend

Those looking for a spontaneous trip away this coming bank holiday weekend could fly to Reykjavik, Iceland for as little as £60 each way, as budget airline Play launches cheap return tickets.

The Nordic country has become a growing hotspot for travellers over the last few years thanks to its host of natural sights. A visit to the famous Blue Lagoon, the natural black sand beach of Reynisfjara or the very distinct church of Hallgrimur.

Although often associated with being an expensive place to visit flights taking off this bank holiday weekend come to £114 return per person, £500 cheaper than rival airline rates.

A flight taking off tomorrow (Friday, April 28) currently costs £68 and landing back in Liverpool on Monday, May 1 comes to £54 a ticket with Play airline, a journey which would cost £648 per person from the same airport with easyJet.

There are also other May dates under £100 including the Kings Coronation bank holiday weekend. As expected with bank holidays the price of travel usually skyrockets to meet demand, but passengers could get return tickets for just over £80.

Flights to Reykjavik on Friday, May 5 and landing back in Liverpool on Monday, May 8 currently costs £83 total, with both legs around £40 per person.

Once landed there are travellers looking to stick to a budget and could make the most of the following deals.

For the weekend of May 5 to May 8 the total price of a hotel would cost between £157 and £300 total, again for a three night stay.
