Ahead of its Tyneside opening, Victor's bosses confirmed that it will be holding a series of launch events to celebrate the new venue and raise thousands of pounds for a cause close to Geordies' hearts. Now, the restaurant has announced that it will be supporting The Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) as its chosen charity.
CHUF supports the children and families who receive treatment on the unit based at Freeman Hospital in the city and the many other hospitals providing care for cardiac patients throughout the North East. Victors hopes to raise £5,000 to donate to the charity by holding two launch nights on Tuesday, July 12, and Wednesday, July 13.
Rhiannon Smith, general manager at Victors Newcastle, said: “The North East is a vibrant and welcoming place and as part of our launch we are thrilled to nominate CHUF as our local charity to partner with and support. The ongoing support the charity provides for children and families in the North East aligns with how we value local people and our goal to fully immerse ourselves into the community through exceptional hospitality."
Victors Newcastle will serve coffee, cocktails, lunch, and dinner, as well as weekend brunch. As well as a stylish interior, it will also offer a large outside seating area. Diners can book tables now ahead of the opening which has seen the business create 50 new jobs in the city.
CHUF said it was delighted that the new restaurant has chosen to raise funds for the charity.
Alicia Smith, corporate and Trust fundraising manager at CHUF, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been selected as the chosen charity for Victors Newcastle Quayside restaurant, in fact when I received the call, I did a little dance! What is particularly heart-warming, is that the restaurant group are choosing to have a charity that matters to their future customers at the forefront of their launch events.
"I think this speaks volumes about the type of company Victors is. CHUF is excited to begin working with the Newcastle team and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together for Heart Heroes!”
Bookings for both charity nights will be available online from next week on a first-come, first-served basis.
