Restaurant selling deep fried steak, burgers and fruit opening in Ayrshire this week

A restaurant with a twist is getting set to open its doors in Ayrshire this week.

Bakers Tempura will be deep frying a variety of food which will also be complimented by non-deep fried items.

Highlights on the Kilmarnock restaurant's menu include steak tempura, fruit cocktail tempura and cheeseburger tempura.

The venue's opening was delayed four months, but the Fowlds Street eaterie, which is in the former Bakers nightclub building, will be serving customers from Wednesday.

Owners revealed on Facebook: "We are ready to open!

"On Wednesday, June 29 we will be opening our doors to welcome you all into our newly-refurbished establishment.

"Why not pop in, try our delicious food, enjoy a nice cold beverage and meet our friendly staff at Team Bakers?

"We will also be hosting entertainment weekends, so make sure to follow the page to keep up to date with what we have planned.

"Hope you are as excited as we are."
