A restaurant on New Brighton's trendy Victoria Road has announced it has 'sadly closed'.
But it's not all bad news for fans as the team will still be serving its much loved food under a new name and with a 'fast food vibe.' Habibi Bar and Terrace in New Brighton is now closed, but the owners have said it 'hasn't closed its doors'.
The restaurant will be using the kitchen to continue to serve up its Forked Up Vegan menu, with the option for diners to eat in or order takeaways. In a statement posted on its Instagram page, Habibi wrote: "Sadly Habibi, as we know it, has closed down. Keep reading though. But it hasn't closed its doors.

"This means we will be continuing to use the kitchen at Habibi as our Forked Up base. Forked Up customers are still able to sit and eat inside, it will be more of a fast food kind of vibe, rather than a restaurant, and we won't be serving any booze for the time being.
"I've called everyone that has left contact numbers on their booking and I'm made up, most of them said they still want to come, so let's crack on. We're open Thursday - Sunday.
"We will be going back to our roots and going HAM on the takeaways and coming to your fave delivery platforms very soon! We will arrange for some dodgy car park drop offs to feed the masses like the good old days, if you lot are still hungry for it?
"Big love to all of the Habibi fam. Massive thank you to everyone that keeps us going. Come see us this weekend and support your local scran dealer."
The announcement was met with a flurry of comments offering support. One person said: "So glad you're able to stay open so people can still get to enjoy your amazing cuisine. So sorry Habibi has had to close though."
Another Instagram user wrote: "Sorry to hear this however yay to car park pick ups. You'll keep thriving no matter what's thrown at you." Someone else added: "Sad about Habibi, I've been a fan since they opened. Very glad you haven't shut though!!"
