A restaurant owner took his staff to Tenerife as a reward for their hard work in challenging year.
Gary Chin, Sumo Pan Asian director and head-chef acknowledged 2022 had been challenging for everyone given the rise in the cost of living.
He wanted to reward his 35 full-time workers - chefs and managers - with the thank you trip abroad.
HullLive reports Mr Chin owns three restaurants across Hessle and Beverley where they serve authentic and innovative dishes from Japan, Malaysia and Thailand.
He first started out with a much smaller restaurant in Hull ten years ago.
Since then, their business has expanded and prospered and Gary wants his staff to be a part of that success.
He said: "I can't say that other employers should do the same. I just do what I can do.
"At the moment the whole economy is not great, and it has been a difficult year.
"I am just trying my best to treat them and hope that in return they would be good to me as well."
The staff members will set off for Tenerife, Spain for four days on Monday and will be there until tomorrow.
Mr Chin said he forked out almost £600 for each of his staff members to be there.
It is not the first time Mr Chin has taken his staff on holiday. In fact, he says this has been something he has done for the past ten years and something he continues to do for years to come.
