The owner of a Latin restaurant is 'looking into' a city centre expansion after his Fazakerley business has gone from strength to strength.
NOSO is among the top ranked restaurants in Liverpool on TripAdvisor, and recently underwent a full facelift. Owners Jean D'Amico and Miguel Pereirais got the keys to the Longmoor Lane premises on a Thursday in March 2020 - by the Monday, the country was in full lockdown.
Despite the challenges raised by the global pandemic, by September 2021 the restaurant - which specialises in 'Latin food with a twist' - was the number one restaurant in the city on TripAdvisor. The venue temporarily shut its doors earlier in July 2022 for a full renovation and is now back open serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with dishes ranging from arepas to empanadas.

Jean, who moved here eight years ago, said: "We've had really good feedback so far. We wanted the place to feel comfortable and chilled; somewhere you know you can stay and no one is going to kick you out. We have an orange room because we both love orange. It looks mad but so cool. These little touches are what our personality is about."
The restaurant has limited space, but the refurbishment has allowed NOSO to add one more table of four, taking its covers from 16 to 20. The business collaborated with architect Verónica Hernández from Yellow Studio 27, while Viking Handyman carried out the work.
Jean also revealed a city centre expansion is on the cards: "We don't have a premises or a date, but we're looking into it."
Despite the ambition, he is determined the Fazakerley restaurant "will be there for a very long time". He added: "We have a lot of thanks for the community around us. It has a very special place in our hearts. It's the part of the city our NOSO belongs to.
"We want to thank everyone in Fazakerley, and in Liverpool, who drive 20 or 30 minutes to come down - we even have people from Manchester coming in. We did this for you, to feel comfortable."
