Restaurant and catering group expands with property purchase

A restaurant and catering group is investing in its home patch by acquiring a new base for the company.

Ascott's has bought 2a Middlefield Road, in the Aston Fields area of Bromsgrove, for use as offices, storage and staff training across 1,402 sq ft.

The business started with the Fuso Italian restaurant in 2017 before opening Ascott's street food venue and bar two years later in the unit next door in New Road.

The company also has an outside catering arm that was delivering 200 to 300 meals a week during the height of Covid.

Company founder Ben Ascott said: "We had seen the property had become vacant and was up for sale.

"The property gives us access to an additional five or six car parking spaces and is an investment in our home area of Aston Fields which is an increasingly popular hub for restaurants, bars and shops.

"We are now looking at further investments around the area as we build the Ascott's brand."

Ben Truslove is joint managing director of property agency John Truslove which helped Mr Ascott secure the new property.

He said: "It is good to see a successful business taking the next steps in its growth, with sound investment in property in an increasingly popular area. We look forward to working with Ben and the team at Ascott's, helping them continue to expand."

Gordon Jones Solicitors in Rubery also acted on the deal.
