ResQ expands again with furthering of Hull city centre footprint and 160 more jobs

Expanding Hull contact centre specialist ResQ has taken even more office space in Hull city centre as it creates a further 160 jobs.

Just weeks after announcing it has committed to doubling its footprint inside Hammonds of Hull, the high-growth company serving some of the biggest names in the consumer market has taken 7,000 sq ft at neighbouring Cherry Tree Court.

It will become the base for 160 members of staff, having been overhauled by FI Real Estate Management in 2022. The office complex operates under the company’s FigFlex serviced office brand, and is already home to Hull Trains.

ResQ takes one fifth of the floorspace offered by the former HMRC base, as it strengthens its position as the chosen outsource partner for the likes of EE and Vodafone.

Tim Knowles, managing director and founder of FIREM, said: “There is a shortage of Grade A office space in Hull, and we are experiencing extremely high demand at Cherry Tree Court as a result. We are proud to support local and regional businesses through the provision of high quality office facilities and I look forward to seeing ResQ continue to expand and thrive in their new space.”

Only last month ResQ revealed it was creating 290 new jobs and taking over a second floor in the Ferensway building.

To support the Hammonds of Hull move it secured a £750,000 Levelling Up Fund grant through Hull City Council to part-finance a £2 million overhaul, which will create 520 new work spaces at the former department store as it gears up to handle new and existing work. ResQ is to split the remaining cost of the extensive renovation work with the local authority.

The latest financial results for the firm, crowned Large Business of the Year at the Hull Live Business Awards in November, saw revenues pass £33 million, with 47 per cent growth in 2021. It first moved into the building that year, taking the 32,000 sq ft second floor. The 2022/2023 period has been described as great for the business, launched by chief executive Gill Marchbank and chairman Nic Marshall, 17 years ago. They had worked in the sector in London, dealing with financial services, and moved north to Mr Marshall's home city, opening with a team of 12. It also has operations in the city's Criterion House, and in Durham.
