Resorts World brings music festival, frose shop to the Las Vegas Strip

While Las Vegas has become the sports capital of the U.S., with its upcoming Formula 1 race and the Super Bowl building on that position, the city has also been one of the top destinations for live music.

With a number of huge names playing residencies in the city, Las Vegas has also become a must-stop destination for the few artists big enough to play stadiums.

Before Las Vegas added Allegiant Stadium just off the Strip,, where the National Football League's Las Vegas Raiders play, stadium-filling acts often skipped the city. That's because the logistics for the other stadium options in the region were not nearly as attractive as they are at the new venue.

That has led Taylor Swift and BTS to bring their tours to Sin City, which already boasts nearly every other big name in music playing there regularly. Caesars Entertainment hosts Adele, Sting, Garth Brooks, Rod Stewart, and the returning Shania Twain while MGM Resorts International (MGM) -) counts Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga among its headline acts.

All the big names in residency at Caesars Entertainment (CZR) -) and MGM properties are located on the north and central sections of the Las Vegas Strip. Resorts World Las Vegas wants to establish the North Strip as a destination, and it's adding two unique attractions to continue its efforts to make that happen.

Resorts World Las Vegas hosts a New Year's Eve music festival

While the north and central sections of the Strip are densely packed with Caesars and MGM casinos -- as well as Wynn Resorts (WYNN) -) properties, the Mirage, the Venetian, and attractions like the new Sphere concert venue, the North Strip is more desolate.

Resorts World will soon be joined by another new resort casino, Fontainebleau Las Vegas, but for now, its only neighbors are The Strat and Circus Circus.

That puts a lot of the onus on drawing people to the North Strip on Resorts World. It has added major headliners in Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Katy Perry at its The Theater venue. Now, Las Vegas's newest casino has plans to outdo its rivals on New Year's Eve with a unique music festival.

"The first festival to run simultaneously on the Las Vegas Strip and in Los Angeles is planned for New Year’s Eve," the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. "'Forever Midnight,' an Insomniac production, plays Dec. 30-Dec. 31 in both cities. The Vegas venue is the new LV FestPark at Resorts World, on the space where Transfix and Enchant were formerly staged."

The electronic dance music event will host a large roster of well-known artists including Solumun, Anotr, Lucati, Eric Prydz, Sofi Tukker, Kaytranda, Fisher, Green Velvet, and Kyle Walker.

Tickets for the two-day event are currently on sale

Resorts World adds a unique wine bar

In addition to the music festival, Resorts World will become the site for the latest location of the fast-growing Co-op Frosé & Eatery. The chain features a twist on a Las Vegas staple -- the frozen alcoholic beverage.

Most Strip casinos have bars selling a variety of frozen beverages, often in large plastic tube-like cups. Co-op Frosé & Eatery elevates that concept by offering frozen wine, along with an upscale breakfast and lunch menu.

"The shop will offer about eight to 10 frosés at a time from a rotating seasonal menu of 50 flavors," the Review-Journal reported. "The shop will also serve creative sandwiches, offer bottled rosé in partnership with Tarpon Cellars of Napa Valley, and supply slushies to room service."

Co-op Frosé & Eatery will also have a kiosk on the resort's casino floor and an Airstream trailer offering its frozen wine at the Resorts World pool.
