Residents terrorised by egg-throwing vandal that targets cars every Friday at midnight

Residents are being terrorised by a mysterious midnight egg bandit, with the public urged to call the police if they're targeted by the serial egg thrower.

Villagers have had their cars pelted with eggs every Friday night for several weeks, according to local reports, but no sign of the attacker has been found.

Residents of Greenhithe in Kent have been scouring security footage from doorbell cameras to find the assailant but have so far turned up nothing.

Several locals have complained about damage to their vehicles after falling victim to the midnight egg attacker.

All the incidents reported so far have happened on Ingress Park Avenue at about midnight.

Sian Viki said: "Someone has been going around egging cars, my car got done this morning and has left damage to my vehicle.

"Was parked on Ingress Park Avenue in one of the side of the road spaces."

Catherine Daniels added: "Car was egged last weekend (Friday night/Saturday morning) on Ingress Park Avenue near the Abbey.

"Last night it was egged again on Ingress Park Avenue towards the Community Centre end. My husband saw another four cars this morning that had been egged."

Helen Herring said: "Don’t know where these vandals are finding the money to buy blooming eggs. Nor where they are getting them from either. Hope it stops soon."

Local Conservative Councillor for Dartford Borough, David Mote, was first made aware of the incidents while doing casework. He is encouraging people to contact the police if they see any more incidents.

Speaking to KentLive, he said: "It is important that people log the crime. Because if it is reported it will then be on the police crime system which will then allocate patrols in the area affected.

"Since we've been reporting it we've not heard anything about it for a couple of weeks. But I've seen many reports of this incident. Hopefully, we scared them off.

"This sort of behaviour can be dangerous and it can be damaging. No matter how small you think it is you need to get it on the system. Either telephone or do it online."

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Kent Police received a report of criminal damage where eggs were reported to have been thrown over a parked car in Ingress Park, Greenhithe, at about 11pm on February 17. No suspects were identified and no arrests made."
