Residents in Radcliffe say they are fed up with the 'shocking' antisocial behaviour in the area following a brutal assault last night.
People on Stand Lane in Radcliffe, near Bury, woke up to a police cordon outside their homes this morning after a 59-year old man was assaulted on the street at around 1:20 this morning.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say the victim was taken to hospital following the incident, but his injuries are not thought to be serious. A 22-year old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, many residents said they 'weren't surprised' by the incident. One mum, who lives around the corner, said she slept through the incident and her only concern this morning was how to get her child to school.
"It hasn't fazed me," she said. "When I got up this morning it wasn't like 'oh sh**, something has happened. I was just wondering if I'd be able to get through it to get my kid to school."
Melissa, another mum who lives further up the road, said she heard the incident last night while she was up to feed her baby. She said she heard 'shouting' and 'screaming', before the street fell silent again.
"I just heard a voice shouting," she said. "One of them was saying 'help', and the other one was saying 'I'll smash your head in' or something like that, they were screaming and shouting. It was horrible."
She said she had lived on Stand Lane for five years, and the incident didn't surprise her. "It's always like that," she told the M.E.N. "We didn't think it was when we bought the house, but every weekend you guarantee that you'll get some sort of youth up and down here drinking and screaming and shouting at each other.
"But a Wednesday night, when you've got children, it's not what you want to hear."
One of Melissa's neighbours said they were downstairs watching TV when they heard 'shouting and a lot of noise', but he wasn't sure what was going on. He said he got a text from his partner saying it 'sounded like a goat was having a fight', but it was only this morning when he went to take the dogs out and saw the cordon that he realised something had happened.
He told the M.E.N that he thought antisocial behaviour was getting worse in the area, saying he had heard about neighbours having their doors kicked down. His partner is now too worried to go out and walk their dog.
"It's getting more and more like that around here," he said.
"I don't mind when these kids hang out in the park, we all used to do it when we were young. But when it spills out into the streets, you know, I've had both my wing mirrors kicked off, and so have my neighbours. It's a regular thing. It seems to be escalating."
Another couple said they heard the incident when they were trying to sleep, but couldn't make out what was being said. "Someone seemed to be in pain," one of them commented.
Across the road, one man said he didn't hear or see the incident, but called the antisocial behaviour on Stand Lane 'unbelievable'. He has fake cameras installed in on his home to try and deter criminals, but said he didn't think the police were doing enough.
"The behaviour that goes on in this area is an absolute disgrace," he told the M.E.N. "We're constantly getting gangs hanging around the corner. You don't see any police presence. It's an absolute joke that nothing is being done about it."
A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 1:20am last night (22 September 2022), police responded to reports of an assault on a male that occurred on Stand Lane in Radcliffe.
"A 59 year old man was taken to hospital to receive treatment for injuries that are not life threatening or life changing. An 22 year old man has since been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery. He remains in custody for questioning."
