ARMED officers were seen at East Kilbride after a "gang in balaclavas" were reportedly seen wielding axes through a residential street.
At around 1.15pm on Saturday, February 15, police received a report of a man with a "bladed weapon" getting into a car on Teal Crescent before colliding with another vehicle.
The eyewitness, who was walking their dog at the time, told Glasgow Live: "When the driver realised it was a dead end he drove up a path knocking a fence down and driving over people’s gardens.
"Men in balaclavas and carrying axes then exited a vehicle and chased the guy in the car."
Police Scotland says the individual who collided with a car on Teal Crescent made off along with the other occupants.
Enquiries are now ongoing to trace them.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.15pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025, we received a report of a man seen with what appeared to be a bladed weapon, getting into a car on Teal Crescent, East Kilbride.
"His vehicle was involved in a crash with another car on Teal Crescent.
"He made off along with the other occupants of the car. Enquiries are ongoing to trace them and establish the circumstances.
"No one was injured."
