Improvements have been made to roads and pathways in South Lanarkshire as a result of local feedback.
Residents have decided to spend over £1.5m of participatory budgeting money on road and pathway improvements.
Participatory budgeting allows the public to have a say in where funding should be allocated.
A total of 12 carriageways have been resurfaced, costing £520,000 as well as 21 footpath improvements costing over £1m .
Chair of the council’s community and enterprise resources committee, Councillor John Anderson, said: “I would like to thank everyone who took part in the PB exercise to determine the type of roads and footways this money should be spent improving.
“We really appreciate their feedback and I am sure they will agree the works have made a difference to the roads and footways that were identified.
“We will be carrying out a similar PB exercise during the next financial year, and we will welcome feedback from residents when this exercise is launched”
Four of the carriageway resurfacing works were in Clydesdale, three in Hamilton, three in East Kilbride and one in Rutherglen and Cambuslang.
Four footway works were carried out in Clydesdale, nine in Hamilton, seven in East Kilbride with one in Rutherglen and Cambuslang.
