RESIDENTS were evacuated from a building following fears of a carbon monoxide leak.

Firefighters and specialist units rushed to Allison Street in the Southside.

A carbon monoxide alarm was set off in a residential building yesterday, March 9, at around 6.53pm.

There were no casualties and emergency services stayed at the scene until the area was safe.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.53pm on Sunday, 9 March, to reports of a carbon monoxide alarm activation within a residential building on Allison Street in Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and specialist units to the scene, and nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution.

“There were no reported casualties, and crews have now left the scene after ensuring the area was safe.”
