Dublin city centre residents living near the popular Camden Street have said they are fed up of party-goers damaging their vehicles and accessing their lanes and gardens to use as toilets.
Vehicles were damaged at Long Lane and Camden Row on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night last week. One resident was hit with a €600 bill after their car's wing mirror was broken.
Cars on the street have been regularly keyed, with wipers being yanked, as well as wing mirrors smashed on the street, residents have claimed, as reported by Dublin Live.
One resident, who asked for anonymity, also witnessed people "urinating" in their front garden, as well as late night shouting, and rubbish scattered across the streetscape.
Those living there are seeking a number of measures to alleviate some of the issues such as: a CCTV scheme, more gardaí around, improved street lighting, cleaners and speed bumps.
Independent Councillor Mannix Flynn told Dublin Live that the "havoc" on the lane is making life "miserable" for locals. He said: "There is just havoc in that lane."
The elected representative said: "The revellers come off Camden Street. They kick the b******s out of the cars. They p*ss and sh*t all over the place."
Cllr Flynn stated that it is a nightmare and nothing is being done about it.
He added: "They are speeding down that road because it is a rat run. It is making lives down there absolutely miserable, and it is very unsafe. I was down there watching, it is a mess."
