As you progress through Resident Evil 4 Remake you’ll find yourself in the house of Bitores Mendez, the town’s mayor. You’ll find a little surprise waiting in the bathroom, but aside from that, it’s a pretty quiet and cozy place to take a break. If you rummage through the house for useful items, you’ll eventually find a locked cupboard, which has an unorthodox combination lock on the front.
This cupboard contains a key item you’ll need to get before you can move on, so we’ll tell you the solution to this puzzle if you’re stuck.

How to solve the lock puzzle in the Mayor’s House – RE4R
The key to this puzzle is found in a book laying on a table in the house. It’s open to Illuminados 4:3, and reads as follows:
The old farmer, his finest crop.
The slight swineherd, his stoutest pig.
The beggarly grandam, her own beloved babe.
Those three highlighted words tell you everything you need, Crop, pig, and babe, in that order.
Mayor’s House lock solution – RE4R
As shown in the image above, you want the two plants in the first slot, the animal in the second, and the baby in the third.
Opening it will get you a Crystal Marble, which you’ll need to unlock the big door upstairs.
